How is ApeChain different?
We are leveraging the benefits from ApeChain's Core plans as well as Arbitrum's roadmap to form The Blueprint.
We are leveraging the benefits from ApeChain's Core plans as well as Arbitrum's roadmap to form The Blueprint.
By focusing on ecosystem discovery, unique web3 rails, and top of funnel exposure, ApeChain will provide both developers and users with the best possible experience on the blockchain.
Improving user experience across the ecosystem.
ApeChain makes ecosystem navigation easy. As new dApps permissionlessly build on ApeChain, users will be able to find them easily through the official ApeChain ecosystem website (Coming September 2024). Users are more likely to find and contribute within an ecosystem they can visualize easily. ApeChain prioritizes consumers by making onboarding easy. Working with partners like Halliday, Decent, and Privy enables us to streamline onboarding through simplified bridging, account abstraction, and fiat onramps - all featured in the ApeChain Widget.
Web3 rails that enable competition are a key differentiator on ApeChain. The Reboot Protocol runs on ApeChain and offers a cryptoprimitive for wagering. You can take a position on yourself, on your friends, on an event. All dApps on ApeChain will be able to leverage these skill based rewards to make ApeChain the best place to host competitions. We're also innovating the approach to Native Yield. Today, ApeChain is the only chain to feature Native Yield with instant withdrawals across ApeCoin, Eth, and stablecoins.
Distribution is key to success for ApeChain - it's how we pour gasoline on the output from content and tools. ApeChain already has traction with world class brands like BAPE which will help developers reach new audiences. ApeChain is the place for people to build on Otherside. The ODK has easy to use Unreal Blueprints that allow you to buy, sell, and trade NFTs within Otherside. Rather than having people interact with the blockchain through just websites, we believe that the spatial internet will be a new frontier of consumer crypto and Otherside will be the leading touch point.
The key benefit of building on the Arbitrum stack is that ApeChain progress can be augmented with deep coordination between ApeChain and Arbitrum developers. ApeChain is adopting four key Arbitrum roadmap milestones to support ApeCoin - Timeboost, BoLD, Cluster Chains, and Stylus.
A powerful new way to build - write smart contracts in Rust. Leverage the efficiencies of Rust, C, and C++ without losing EVM compatibility. Stylus enables a new way to write smart contracts by introducing a second, co-equal virtual machine that is fully interoperable with the EVM. One Chain, Many Languages. Developers will be free to use their preferred programming language, all interoperable on ApeChain with Stylus. ApeChain will be an early adopter to Stylus.
Arbitrum Orbit chains naturally validate transactions on a first in first out basis, so by default there currently isn't a bidding war to pay for gas. If your transaction is initiated before someone else's, it will get written to the blockchain before theirs. This massively simplifies the user experience that is necessary for mass adoption. With the Timeboost upgrade, a priority lane will be built for people who want to pay a premium to prioritize their transaction. Half of the fees from the priority lane will be returned to the DAO and the other half will be burned. So the more demand there is for ApeChain, the more deflation there will be on ApeCoin.
Validation for blocks on Arbitrum is a privileged action currently limited to an allow-listed set of parties, maintained by the Arbitrum DAO. Enabling permissionless validation is key milestone on ApeChain's journey to becoming a Stage 2 Rollup - the most advanced and mature rollup technology categorization. BoLD, an acronym for Bounded Liquidity Delay Protocol, is an upgrade to Arbitrum's existing dispute protocol. Specifically, BoLD changes some of the rules used by validators to open and resolve disputes about Arbitrum's state. On ApeChain, BoLD will let validators permissionlessly become proposers and challengers. There will be service fee rewards for Active Proposers and defenders bounty for Honest Defenders. Running a validator on ApeChain will require a security bond be put up in ApeCoin. Additionally, there will be designated use cases for key Yuga NFTs in ApeChain's implementation of BoLD.
Arbitrum L2s and L3s share the same foundational technology, but do not currently benefit from interconnectivity. Each chain is constrained by what their own validators can process. This hinders scalability. Cluster Chains is a new feature from Arbitrum that will allow Arbitrum chains to leverage each others' validators to significantly increase throughput. A set of separately governed chains can agree to connect their chains into a cluster, accepting a level of interdependence in their security in exchange for much faster cross-chain interaction.
